Nestled in the heart of Hood, California, “Hood Supply Co Bar and Grill” has been a cornerstone of the community for over a century. Originally built in 1910 as Hood Supply Company, the building served as a general store, gas station, and soda fountain — a true gathering place for the town’s residents and travelers along the Sacramento River.
Over the decades, the property evolved through many beloved chapters. In its early days, it was home to Skittles, Rusty Hook, and The Delta Blues, to name a few. Following that, the property became vacant for many years. The building was purchased in 2003 and went through a 12 year remodel. With the addition of a new kitchen area and a newly remodeled dining room, Hood Supply Company opened in 2015. The new Hood Supply Company was named after the original. The restaurant closed in Febuary 2020.
Today, the tradition lives on at Hood Supply Co Bar and Grill. In 2024, Michelle and Vinny Mota (Matney) reopened with Chef Emiliano Zapata. We are proud to honor the rich legacy of this historic building while keeping the family tradition going, as 2nd generation owners of the restaurant, and combining timeless hospitality with modern country charm. Our menu celebrates fresh, handcrafted American dishes, our bar features house-crafted cocktails, and our stage hosts local live music, keeping the spirit of this special place alive.
For over 100 years, Hood Supply Company has been a place to gather, celebrate, and connect — and we’re just getting started
